Předposlední kolo Evropské enduro série v italské oblasti Molveno - Paganella vyšlo Čechům velmi dobře, urvali několik pódiových umístění a reprezentovali naši zemi více než důstojně. Kolotoč evropského endura se přesunul do italských dolomitů do městěčka Molveno, kde pokračovala série čtvrtým závodem. Celý závod se odehrával na kopcích v oblasti Molveno-Paganella a nabízel závodníkům úžasné pohledy nejen na ledovcové jezero Lago di Molveno, ale dokonce i pohled na nedaleko vzdálené Lago di Garda. Místní traily byly namotané ve vysokohorském prostředí, v podstatě start jednotlivých erzet byl ve výšce 2000 metrech nad mořem. Počasí závodním tentokrát přálo tak napůl. Propršená sobota udělala z erzet nekonečné dlouhé uklouzané tobogány. V neděli na závod bylo sice celý den slunečno, ale traily neměly šanci vyschnout, takže dokončit závod bez “uklouznutí” byl v podstatě zázrak. Dráhy byly hodně technické, ale nechyběla ani místa s úžasným flow, ale také switchbacky a za mokra velmi nepříjemné kořenové pasáže. Zasádní byly dvě rychlostky - ta s číslem 2 byla extrémně dlouhá ve srovnání s ostatními, pouze jeden jezdec ji v závodě dokázal zajet po 14 minut, vrchní pasáž byla plná kamení, ale zase o to míň na ní bylo bláta, spodní půle na tom byla přesně obráceně. A druhou velmi dlouhým testem techniky a připravenosti byla osmiminutová poslední pátá RZ - tuto si drtivá většina jezdců pochvalovala - přestože byla opravdu těžká a měla všechno, co má závodní endurová trať mít - těžké dh pasáže, flow i šlapavé úseky. Na startu se sešla kompletní špička, která se pravidelné účastní evropské sériie plus v elitní kategorii startovku doplnili dva top italští závodníci Nicola Casadei a Denny Lupato. Velmi dobře si vedli závodníci Focus teamu, když Marcus Reiser závod vyhrál a teamový kolega Fabian Scholz skončil druhý. Třetí místo bral dobře jezdící Švýcar Rudolf Biedermann (Scott), bramboru si tentokrát odváží náš Michal Prokop (Specialized). "Skoro 50km na pěti erzetách by bylo dost i za sucha. Závod po propršené sobotě byl opravdu náročný, jelo se mi dobře, ale během dne jsem měl pár výletů z trati. Paradoxně se mi jela nejlíp nejdelší erzeta, která měla přes 14 minut." shrnul závod Michal. Z dalších českých jezdců v elitě dojíždí 17. Milan Myšík, který odjel třetí RZ bez řetězu a následně i na defektu, o pár míst před ním dokončuje Slovák Matěj Vitko na 14. místě těsně za německou legendou Marcusem Klausmannem, který si zde střihnul svoje první evropské enduro. Další výtečné výsledky zaznamenali Honza Vaner v Master 30+, když dokončil na skvělém druhém místě a také v Master 40+ Milan Čižinský, který díky vysokému startovnímu číslu musel mnohokrát předjíždět, ale nakonec třetí flek urval, ale vítězství bylo nadosah. Další bedna pro ČR patřila v amatérech, Honza Mareš bere bronz. Finále seriálu bude v říjnu na jihu Španělska, vítěz z Paganella Marcus Reiser navýšil svůj náskok v celkovém pořadí, ale stále není rozhodnuto. Countryman Fabi Scholz and Rudolf Biedermann (SUI) had no chance to fight him for the top of the podium. As Michal Prokop (CZE) finished on 4^th place, Markus Reiser extended his lead in the overall ranking. Reiser liked the stages in Paganella as they were long and natural and everything you need for a cool enduro race was included. But will he also be in Málaga on October 17 and 18 to become winner of the EES overall ranking? “Yes, for now it is planned to go there and get some sun at the end of the season. Also, my chances are quite good to be at top of the overall ranking. I’ll try to give it my best in Spain.” Raphaela Richter from Germany was leading the Women Elite ranking at the end of the day. The all-time favorite Monika Büchi from Switzerland had indeed no chance to fight the German and was not happy with her ride in the end: “The race started quite well, but I was really afraid of stage 2 and I was tossed around like in a rollercoaster. So finally, I am happy to be down here in one piece.” Lisa Policzka (GER) and Monia Büchi (SUI) completed the Women Elite podium and coped with the most challenging race of the season, as Germany’s Fabi Scholz labeled it afterwards. Unfortunately, Benedikt Purner (AUT) had no chance to attend the race, so Marcin Motyka (POL) was a great winner of the Men Masters 30+ Class while the Austrian kept his overall lead. Kevin Maderegger (AUT) totally lived up to his name and prevailed the Men Junior Class once more. German Downhill Champion Marcus Klausmann finished his first race of the EES without his rear brake and with a hurt forefinger, but he also had a lot of fun in the end. Denny Lupato, the winner of the first-ever EES stop in 2014, had many problems during the race and ended up in 9^th place. As of now, the European Enduro Series has had it all, the ocean, the glacier, cross-border races and with Molveno-Paganella also tackled the Dolomites. This mecca for enduro shredders with about 400km of single trails is now officially approved by Europe’s finest selection of enduro riders. With great and sunny weather after constant rain, which made the racetrack a totally glissade, the race day ends at the waterfront of the Molveno lake. All together the riders were absolutely happy with the long and challenging stages and are looking forward to the final race to come in Málaga on October 17 and 18.
